NOVEMBER 17, 2011
MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was held in short form due to lack of a quorum.
Financial Report
The Financial Report was presented by Treasurer, Carole
Swank. A motion to accept the report was made by Ann Roadarmel
and seconded by Frank Berger.
OLD BUSINESS:
The minutes for our October 20, 2011 meeting were approved
with a motion by Carole Swank and a second by Frank Berger.
Food Drive/Donations
The letter that has been composed
requesting food bank donations will be enclosed with the membership letters for
2010. Suzanne will be taking care of an
article for the newspaper regarding this food bank project.
Christmas Decorations
The trees have been fertilized for
the winter.
The Christmas decorations and
Santa’s mailbox will be set up this year on November 27 at 1:00 p.m. so that
they will be ready to be turned on December 1, 2011. Several items will be
needed for this project and budgeted monies will be used for this expense.
President Berger has checked the power system and it is in working order. Various
people have been contacted and have agreed to add their decorations.
Santa’s Mailbox Decorations
President Frank Berger will try to
get the mailbox in place on November 20. The All Home Days Association will
again take care of Santa’s Letters and we will be helping with the costs if
necessary.
NEW BUSINESS
Correspondence
An appreciation letter for the use
of the Conference Room at the Municipal Building for our monthly meetings will
be sent to the Township Supervisors.
Christmas Tree Pick Up
Christmas Trees will be picked up
on January 7, 2012. President Frank Berger will speak to the police department
regarding their help in directing traffic for this event. Bill Griffith has
again donated his chipper. The group will meet at Vought’s at 9 a.m.
Christmas Decoration Removal
Decorations will be removed at 11
a.m. on January 7 and the lights, extension cords, etc
will be removed on January 8.
Pizza & Soda for the Tree Pick Up Crew
Several non-members of the
Association help with the Christmas Tree Pickup and so it was decided to again
provide pizza and soda as a thank you gesture.
Donation
The Food Pantry, Fire Department,
and Library donations have been fulfilled for this year, as per our spend plan.
It was brought to our attention that Dr. Kenneth Heise
and his entire dental crew will be going to Jamaica on a mission trip. A motion
was made by Frank Berger and seconded by Ann Roadarmel
to cut a check in the amount of $100 to be used for this project.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
FBLA
The Student of the Month for the
Quarter Marking Period at SCAHS is Natalie Beishline.
Ms. Beishline and her teachers, Ms. Christine Force,
and Ms. Lori Shiveley were present at our meeting
where she was awarded her check by President Frank Berger. He spoke to Ms. Beishline and congratulated her on her award which was
based entirely on her individual efforts. Several pictures were taken and will
be published in the local newspapers and given to Ms. Beishline
as is our custom for this award.
Scholarship Letters
These letters will be mailed to the
households of 12th grade students from Ralpho Township prior to our
January 2010 meeting. Any member who is interested in being part of the
selection committee, please contact Frank Berger.
Membership Drive
Membership chairperson, Brian
Hubler, will combine the membership letter with the Food Pantry letter in one
document which will be mailed in the near future.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn was made by Frank Berger and seconded by
Carole Swank.
Next RTBA meeting will be January 19, 2012. There will be NO DECEMBER meeting.
